Japanese seasonings you’ll see all the time 🇯🇵 塩 = salt 胡椒 = pepper バジル = basil オレガノ = oregano ターメリック = turmeric A small Japanese tip: 「これは〜です」 means “This is ~.” So once you know this pattern, you can use it with almost anything. これは塩です。 This is salt. これはバジルです。 This is basil. You’ll often see 塩 and 胡椒 written in kanji, while バジル・オレガノ・ターメリック are usually written in katakana because they are loanwords.
