West Metro crews this morning on a structure fire in a small apartment building near 12th and Ammons St. in Lakewood. There are five units in the building, some are unoccupied, all residents got out safely with no injuries. The fire moved into the attic, causing heavy damage to a portion of the building. In this video, you can see firefighters venting the roof (using a chainsaw to cut an opening) in order to open it up and get water on the fire in that area. Crews rescued ferrets from one unit.
