Incoming coronagraph imagery by GOES-19 CCOR confirms a halo CME is associated with the long duration M2.7 solar flare near center disk at 20:02 UTC (Aug 30). It appears to be Earth directed and I would expect a passage past Earth within 48-72 hours. A minor (G1) or perhaps even a moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch may be issued. More to follow. Current update: the M8.1 CME is late, but it could still arrive. G3 conditions are unlikely at this point since the CME is slower than expected and may not have as much energy.
