Huckleberry Hound, the easygoing blue dog with a thick Southern drawl, first appeared in 1958 as the star of Hanna-Barbera’s The Huckleberry Hound Show. Voiced by Daws Butler, he became the first cartoon character to headline his own half-hour series. Whether playing a clumsy sheriff, a reluctant firefighter, or a tone-deaf singer of “Oh My Darling Clementine,” Huck faced every job with unshakable optimism and a slow, folksy charm. The show also introduced Yogi Bear and the mice Pixie and Dixie.

A reminder to be careful letting your dog gulp large amounts of water when they’re heavily panting or overheated ☀️ Drinking too much water too quickly can increase the risk of stomach discomfort, vomiting, and in deep-chested breeds, may contribute to bloat (GDV) a life-threatening emergency where the stomach twists. Huckleberry has had a gastropexy, which helps reduce the risk of the stomach twisting, but it does NOT prevent bloat itself. That’s why we still take precautions: 🤍 Encourage smal
