Dozens of ice cream makers pledged on Monday to remove artificial dyes from their products by 2028. The move is the latest voluntary effort by U.S. food manufacturers to heed calls from the Trump administration to remove synthetic dyes over potential health concerns.

Turkey Hill Dairy and dozens of other U.S. ice cream makers are pledging to remove artificial colors from their products by 2028 as more food makers look to comply with a push by the FDA to rely more on natural ingredients.

The ice cream manufacturers, which together produce more than 90% of the ice cream sold in the United States, will remove Red 3, Red 40, Green 3, Blue 1, Blue 2, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6 from their ice cream retail products, according to the International Dairy Foods Association.
