Former Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds has been killed in a motorcycle accident in Atlanta - Tool, Slash, Trivium, Opeth, Zakk Wylde and more pay tribute

Brent Hinds, the former singer and guitarist of the heavy metal band Mastodon, has died. The 51-year-old musician was killed in a motorcycle crash around 11:35 p.m. ET on Aug. 20 in Atlanta, according to Atlanta NBC affiliate WXIA.

Mr. Hinds, 51, was found unresponsive late Wednesday after an S.U.V. appeared to slam into the motorcycle he was riding near downtown Atlanta, the authorities said.
