Police shooting shuts down I-80 lanes in East Bay

Several westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in the East Bay were shut down Thursday morning after police responded to reports that a person was attacking vehicles with a metal object.
The CHP issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic about 7:30 a.m. and announced that it had shut down all three lanes on I-80 on the freeway before the Richmond Parkway exit. They later said that they closed a lane on eastbound I-80 and were diverting traffic at the Willow Avenue exit in Hercules.
There will be lane restrictions and short-term lane closures on Interstate 80 eastbound between Exit 262 (Mountain Top/Hazleton) and Exit 273 (White Haven/Freeland) from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 21 and Jan. 22 for pothole patching.
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A crash closed a section of Interstate 80 east in Luzerne County early Thursday morning. According to PennDOT the crash happened just after midnight at the split of Interstate 80 & Interstate 81 near Drums. We have seen traffic being detoured onto Interstate 81.
Many interstate closures and ongoing speed limit reductions have been implemented across northwestern Pennsylvania due to hazardous conditions.
