Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host the Supercopa de España for the sixth consecutive year, a tournament that has become a staple in the international football calendar. This year, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided to maintain a rule introduced last year that has been well-received by clubs and players alike: there will be no extra time in any of the tournament's matches.
Rather unsurprisingly, it’s Spain’s giants who boast the best record in the Supercopa, but it’s Barcelona who hold the title of most triumphs. The Catalans have won the competition on 15 separate occasions, including as part of their domestic treble during the 2024–25 season.
