A dispute over Pokémon trading cards erupted into shocking violence outside a GameStop in California, leaving one man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being bashed in the head and stabbed with shards of glass.

While Pokémon fans waited outside the GameStop store to buy cards, a man identified by Colma Police Department as Miguel OrellanasFlores, 49, allegedly cut the line, resulting in a verbal argument with the victim. OrellanasFlores allegedly struck the victim in the back of the head with a glass mason jar.

Police said the argument turned physical when Orellanas-Flores allegedly struck the victim "in the back of the head with a glass mason jar." The second man then "grabbed the broken shards of glass of the mason jar and began to stab the victim multiple times," according to police.
