Patrick Mahomes threw for 276 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Tight end Travis Kelce led the way with nine receptions for 91 yards and a score on 13 targets. In the fourth quarter, Kelce caught a 21-yard pass from Mahomes to give Kansas City a 19-16 lead.

But the Chiefs are absolutely in trouble, falling to 5-5 after Sunday’s 22-19 loss to the Broncos. They’re 0-5 in one-score games, and tight end Travis Kelce couldn’t hide his frustration, declining to speak to reporters except to say, “If you’re going to ask me about the [Chiefs’ all-time touchdown] record, I could care less about that right now.”

Mahomes and Kansas City managed to score 13 points in the second half, but it wasn’t good enough because the Broncos’ offense woke up, too. In the end, Kansas City’s defense couldn’t get one last stop, and the much-criticized Nix outplayed his counterpart when it mattered most.
