Tropical Storm Jerry formed Tuesday over tropical waters in the central Atlantic Ocean, the National Hurricane Center said. It is the 10th named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.
According to the National Hurricane Center's 2 a.m. Friday advisory, Tropical Storm Jerry is in the Atlantic Ocean, 65 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. The system, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, is moving to the northwest at 16 mph.
Tropical storm watches have been issued for several islands, including Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis.
From Mitch and Sandy to Wilma and Hazel, deadly and destructive October hurricanes have left their mark over the decades.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Jerry has strengthened in the Atlantic Ocean on a path toward the Caribbean.
Michael Lowry, a Miami-based hurricane specialist, said La Niña tends to bring its greatest impacts to the western half of the Atlantic, including the Gulf and Caribbean Sea. He said those regions are already seeing the lessened wind shear and other conditions characteristic of La Niña.
A wave of tropical moisture tied to the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla is expected to bring Arizona "prolonged" rainfall in the coming days bringing steady rain, cooler temperatures and possible flooding to Phoenix.
