Virginia governor race dominated by transgender issues and murder-text scandal as voters head to polls in crucial off-year elections across four states.

With a national fundraising blitz in full swing and Election Day just around the corner, Democrats stumping for Proposition 50 have far out-raised and out-spent their opponents — even though a California megadonor with Republican ties single-handedly spent $30 million to defeat it.

Early voting has already begun in several races including the New York City Mayoral race and for New Jersey’s gubernatorial race. That, plus Virginia’s race for governor could provide key information for both parties as they head into the midterms.

The countdown is on to Election Day in NYC, as voters prepare to choose between Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa for mayor.

Statewide elections in New Jersey and Virginia are being closely watched but seem unlikely to break the Washington impasse.
