On Thursday, Air Canada announced it will cover "reasonable" expenses for hotels, meals and transport costs incurred by passengers who endured flight delays and cancellations during the recent strike by the airline's flight attendants.

The flight attendants' union said a new agreement guarantees members will be paid for work performed while planes are on the ground, resolving one of the major issues that drove the strike.

Air Canada will gradually restart operations after reaching an agreement with the union for 10,000 flight attendants to end a strike that disrupted travel plans for hundreds of thousands of travelers.
