‘We Shall Overcome’ sign covers confederate monument during MLK day parade
As hundreds gathered for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade on Monday, many signs were displayed of Dr. King’s most famous quotes, but one sign drew extra attention. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famed ‘We shall overcome” quote was displayed during the parade at a significant location.
On this Martin Luther King Jr Day, the Reno community is honoring the civil rights icon’s ideals and legacy with the annual memorial caravan. “We maintain the ideals of peace and love,” said Donald Gallimore Sr.
