Washington D.C. marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day with their annual parade as the political climate brings some to reflect on the slain Black American civil rights icon’s legacy.

At the conclusion of the program, Mayor Rod Roberson and his wife, Regina Roberson, both received the Ben Barnes Community Service Award.
