The injury-riddled Indiana Fever say guard Sophie Cunningham will miss the rest of this season with a knee injury. She was hurt during Sunday’s victory at Connecticut.
After spending her first six WNBA seasons with the Mercury, Cunningham was traded to the Fever over the offseason. Through her 30 games played with Indiana, the former Missouri Tigers guard averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game, asserting herself as the team’s enforcer.

Former Missouri and current Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season, with a torn right MCL.
Sophie Cunningham and the Indiana Fever have entered the final stretch of the 2025 WNBA regular season, sitting at 19-16 as of Tuesday, good for sixth place in the league standings. But Cunningham suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the overtime win against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, forcing her to miss the rest of the game.
The Fever announced that an MRI revealed a right MCL tear for Cunningham.

Cunningham tore her MCL, per the Indianapolis Star's Chloe Peterson, and the organization said it expects her to make a full recovery.
She joins Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald on the sidelines for the rest of the season — as well as Caitlin Clark, who has not played since July 15.
