An NYPD police officer was shot twice Friday morning while responding to the carjacking of an Uber driver by a violent career criminal who was out on parole, police and New York City Mayor Eric Adams said.

The detective — who is assigned to the department’s Queens North Warrants Squad — was shot in the leg and arm.
