Arch Manning and Julian Sayin can make an important statement against each other that has nothing to do with the Heisman Trophy.

On Monday, OSU announced that Julian Sayin will start in the season opener that pits No. 1 Texas vs. No. 3 Ohio State. Sayin is a five-star recruit from California who began his college career heading to Tuscaloosa before transferring from Alabama when Nick Saban retired.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Texas Longhorns will open the upcoming college football season against one another on August 30. Texas comes into the game ranked as the top team in the country in the first Associated Press poll, while Ohio State, which won last season's national title, comes in at third.
