The Toronto Maple Leafs might not be pleased after hearing the unfortunate warning from an NHL insider and former franchise player about Auston Matthews’ future.

NHL free agency has arrived, and that means teams around the league will be looking to make upgrades to their rosters for the 2025-26 season. Many teams have already taken care of business before July 1 by re-signing key players to extensions.

The Maple Leafs received Nicolas Roy from Vegas in the Mitch Marner deal. Roy is a strong third-line center and kills penalties, but he’s not expected to provide big offensive numbers. He had 31 points last season with the Golden Knights.
