Ukraine retains control over parts of Russia's western border region after the October deadline set by president Putin for his military expired.

Ukraine's army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the Kursk front. A series of decisions were made to prevent Russia from seizing the initiative, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia has recaptured half of the territory it lost to Ukraine in Kursk, a region central to Volodymyr Zelensky’s plan to defeat Vladimir Putin.
