Alan Cumming is officially returning as Nightcrawler in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. The actor recently opened up about the filming process, sharing some behind-the-scenes stories with Gold Derby.

The actor recently told People at the Televerse 2025 conference that he “just finished” filming the Russo brothers’ highly anticipated Doomsday film, which is set to hit theaters in May 2026.

Alan Cumming is back for “Avengers: Doomsday,” revising his role as the blue-skinned, sword-wielding, teleporting Nightcrawler. While Cumming famously didn’t love his time on “X2” (the character did not return for “X-Men: The Last Stand,” the actor said his second turn in the pointy ears was a healing experience.
