Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department were battling a greater alarm structure fire in North Hollywood Sunday. Firefighters responded to 11115 West Vanowen just before 4 p.m. and requested two additional task forces for the large exterior fire showing heavy smoke,

The fire is burning in the area of 11115 W. Vanowen Street, adjacent to the railroad tracks and a commercial building that potentially houses hazardous materials.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was battling an exterior structure fire in North Hollywood that sent billows of smoke in the air.

Over 50 firefighters helped extinguish the fire in less than an hour, preventing it from spreading to the nearby commercial building.
